Some statistical inferences on the upper record of Lomax distribution
In this paper, we investigate some inferential properties of the upper record Lomax distribution. Also, we will estimate the upper record of the Lomax distribution parameters using methods, Moment (MME), Maximum Likelihood (MLE), Kullback-Leibler Divergence of the Survival function (DLS) and Baysian. Finally, we will compare these methods using the Monte Carlo simulation.
متن کاملStatistical inferences in phylogeography.
In conventional phylogeographic studies, historical demographic processes are elucidated from the geographical distribution of individuals represented on an inferred gene tree. However, the interpretation of gene trees in this context can be difficult as the same demographic/geographical process can randomly lead to multiple different genealogies. Likewise, the same gene trees can arise under d...
متن کاملMaking Correct Statistical Inferences
Large sample methods for estimating the variance of parameter estimates for hypothesistesting purposes (White, 1982) and statistical tests for model selection (Vuong, 1989) when the statistical model is wrong (i.e., misspeci ed) are reviewed. A parallel distributed processing (PDP) statistical model for analyzing categorical time series data is then proposed, and a theorem establishing when the...
متن کاملDefault Inferences From Statistical Knowledge
There are two common and distinct uses of probabilities: probabilities used as degrees of belief and probabilities used as statistical measures. Probabilities used as statistical measures can represent various assertions about the objective statistical state of the world, while probabilities used as degrees of belief can represent various assertions about the subjective state of an agent’s beli...
متن کاملStatistical Inferences for Functional Data
With modern technology development, functional data are being observed frequently in many scientific fields. A popular method for analyzing such functional data is “smoothing first, then estimation.” That is, statistical inference such as estimation and hypothesis testing about functional data is conducted based on the substitution of the underlying individual functions by their reconstructions...
